How We Fabricate and Install Your Countertops — 5 Steps, 7-10 Days, One Team
Here’s exactly what happens at each step, what to expect, and what you need to do.
The Five Steps
What happens, in order — and what we need from you.
1
Step 1: Free Consultation and Design Planning
What happens: We meet at your home or at our Dallas showroom to discuss your project. We assess your space, review your layout, discuss material options, and understand your design goals and budget. If you’re replacing existing countertops, we evaluate the current setup and plan for removal.
What we cover:
– Kitchen, bathroom, outdoor, or commercial application
– Material recommendations based on how you use the space (not just aesthetics)
– Edge profile options that match your design direction
– Sink type and placement (undermount, drop-in, vessel, farmhouse)
– Backsplash coordination
– Timeline and budget expectations
What you need to do: Know your approximate project scope (which rooms, rough square footage if possible) and have a general sense of your material preference. Don’t worry about being exact — that’s what this meeting is for.

Step 2: Slab Selection at Our Dallas Yard
What happens: You visit our slab yard at 9011 John W. Carpenter Fwy, Suite B-104, Dallas, TX 75247, and walk through our inventory to select your exact stone. Full slabs are displayed upright in natural light—not 4-inch samples or photos on a screen. You see the actual slab that will become your countertop.
Why this matters: Every natural stone slab is unique. Two Calacatta Gold slabs from the same quarry can have different veining patterns, color warmth, and mineral deposits. Selecting your slab in person ensures there are no surprises after fabrication. For quartz, comparing brands such as Cambria, Silestone, Caesarstone, and MSI in person lets you see differences in pattern depth, undertones, and finishes that small samples cannot accurately show.
Our vendor partners: KLZ Stone Supply, Cambria, Caesarstone, Silestone, MSI Surfaces, Vicostone, The Stone Collection, Arizona Tile, Taxila Stone, Levantina, Daltile, and many others. If we don’t have the exact material you’re looking for in our yard, we can source it from trusted partner suppliers throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
Remnants available: If your project is under 25 square feet, such as a bathroom vanity, wet bar, or accent piece, our remnant inventory may have the perfect slab at a reduced price.
What you need to do: Visit during showroom hours (Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Saturday: 8:00 AM–1:00 PM). Bring photos of your kitchen or bathroom, and if possible, a cabinet door or color sample to help match your countertops with your existing design.

Step 3: Laser Digital Templating
What happens: Our templating specialist visits your home with advanced laser scanning equipment to digitally capture every dimension of your countertop area. Every wall angle, curve, corner, electrical outlet, sink location, cooktop cutout, and transition is measured with a level of precision that traditional tape measurements cannot match.
Why this matters: Countertop materials range from approximately $28.95 to over $120 per square foot. Even a half-inch measurement error can result in gaps at the wall, a misaligned sink cutout, or a countertop that doesn’t fit properly. Recutting premium materials such as quartzite can be costly. Laser digital templating eliminates these risks and ensures a precise fit.
What we plan during templating:
- Seam placement for structural strength and natural vein alignment
- Overhang dimensions for kitchen islands and peninsulas
- Exact sink and cooktop cutout locations
- Backsplash height and termination points
- Transitions to adjacent walls, cabinets, and surfaces
What you need to do: Have your cabinets fully installed, or at minimum all base cabinets securely in place, before your templating appointment. Countertops cannot be measured accurately without the cabinetry they will be installed on. Please clear the countertop area of any items to provide easy access for our technician.
Time: Most laser digital templating appointments take approximately 1–2 hours, depending on the size and complexity of the project.

Step 4: CNC Fabrication and Edge Profiling
What happens: Your selected slab is moved to our fabrication facility in Dallas, where advanced CNC waterjet cutting technology transforms it into your custom countertop. Using the digital template created during laser templating, every sink cutout, cooktop opening, edge profile, and finished piece is machine-cut with exceptional precision for a perfect fit.
What CNC technology delivers:
- Precision cuts accurate to within approximately 1 mm
- Smooth, polished sink cutout edges, especially important for undermount sinks
- Consistent edge profiles across every countertop piece
- Accurate vein matching across seams and bookmatched slabs when requested
- Optimized slab layouts that minimize waste and maximize material yield
Edge profile options:
- Eased – Clean, straight edges with slightly softened corners for a modern look.
- Beveled – An angled top edge that adds subtle dimension to transitional designs.
- Bullnose – A fully rounded edge offering a timeless, classic appearance.
- Half Bullnose – Rounded on top with a flat underside for a versatile finish.
- Ogee – An elegant S-shaped profile commonly used in luxury kitchens and bathrooms.
- Waterfall / Mitered – Creates a seamless appearance as the stone continues vertically down the side of an island.
- Chiseled – A rough, natural-looking edge ideal for rustic and organic designs.
Quality control: Every fabricated countertop undergoes a detailed inspection before leaving our shop. We verify edge finishes, cutout quality, dimensional accuracy, polish consistency, and seam alignment to ensure each piece matches the approved digital template.

Step 5: Delivery and Professional Installation
What happens: Our insured installation team delivers your custom fabricated countertops and completes the installation in your home or business. We never outsource installations to subcontractors. The same experienced team that coordinates your project works from digital templating through final installation, ensuring every countertop fits precisely and meets our quality standards.
Installation day includes:
- Removal and disposal of existing countertops (when applicable)
- Disconnecting and reconnecting sink plumbing
- Professional countertop placement and leveling
- Color-matched seam installation for a clean, natural appearance
- Installation of undermount or drop-in sinks
- Application of premium stone sealer for granite, marble, and quartzite countertops
- Final inspection and complete cleanup, leaving your space ready to enjoy
Time: Most residential kitchen countertop installations are completed in a single day. Bathroom vanity installations generally take only a few hours, while larger residential or commercial projects may require up to two days.
What you need to do: Remove fragile items from the work area and ensure clear access to the kitchen, bathroom, or installation space. We recommend being available during installation so you can participate in the final walkthrough and ask any questions before the project is completed.
